1 Lbs package any type Jimmy Dean's sausage 4 oz butter 4 oz flour 6 cups whole milk ½ oz fresh ground black pepper 1 oz kosher salt pinch nutmeg 1 package Mary B's Southern Buttermilk Biscuits
Heat milk on medium until almost to a boil. Fry sausage in deep frying pan until just cooked approximately 10 minutes. Melt butter in large enough pan to hold milk also. Mix into melted butter, all flour until smooth. Add heated milk to flour/butter mixture until creamy, you won't know how thick until it boils. If richness is your desired look then cut back on milk, if you want it thinner add more. Add salt, pepper and nutmeg to pan. Pour mixture now into pan with cooked sausage. Turn heat off and let it sit for at least 20 minutes. This may thickened and you can add a little milk to thin down. Place Mrs. B's Southern Buttermilk Biscuits in the oven (20 minutes @400*, as recipe states) Reheat Gravy and sausage, serve over biscuits. YUM, Southern Comfort Breakfast.
