Insert metal blade in Cuisinart® Food Processor. Add onions and pulse until finely chopped, 10-15 times. Heat butter and oil in a large Cuisinart skillet (12-inch or 5-½ quart sauté) using medium heat. Add the chopped onions, cayenne, salt and pepper. Sauté for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for an additional 20 to 25 minutes, until the onions are browned and caramelized. Let cool. Place the cream cheese, sour cream and mayonnaise in the work bowl of the Cuisinart® Food Processor fitted with the metal blade. Process until smooth. Add one quarter of the onions and process to blend. Transfer to a bowl and stir in the remaining caramelized onions. Taste and adjust seasonings as necessary. Serve with chips or fresh vegetable crudité dippers.
