Blend in mixer: Separate Bowl: ¾ C. melted shortening, cooled 2C flour 1C. Sugar 2 teaspoon baking soda ¼ C. Molasses 1½ teaspoon cinnamon Then add: 1 large egg, ½ teaspoon cloves ½ teaspoon ginger ½ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon nutmeg

INSTRUCTIONS
Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture just until blended. Do not overbeat. Chill dough for 3 hours. Roll into 1 oz. balls and roll in sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 min.
