High-Fiber Bran Loaf for 2 lb Breadmaker

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups water plus 1 Tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 Tablespoons honey
  • 2 Tablespoons butter or vegetable oil
  • 1 cup whole bran cereal
  • 1 3/4 cups whole-wheat flour
  • 1 3/4 cups bread flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients in the breadmaker pan in order listed.
  2. Choose the Whole-Grain Cycle, 2 pound loaf for size of bread and medium for crust color. Press Start. When done, remove bread from breadmaker and carefully remove kneading paddle from bottom of loaf.
  3. Let cool 10 minutes before slicing with a bread knife.
