Filipino Grilled Pork Belly

INGREDIENTS

  • 1.5 lbs pork belly strips
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Filipino banana ketchup
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
  • Serve with garlic fried rice, fried egg and vinegar dipping sauce

DIRECTIONS

For Indoor Searing Grill: 

  1. Mix together the marinade: soy sauce, banana ketchup, oyster sauce, lemon juice, garlic, black pepper and brown sugar.
  2. Pour the marinade over the pork belly, mix well and refrigerate to marinate for at least 3 hours to overnight.
  3. When ready to cook, prepare the grill by heating it up, lid on to 400 degrees.
  4. Grill pork belly in batches, lid on for about 5 minutes on each side then turn the heat to sear to get the char, grill marks.
  5. Enjoy with garlic fried rice and a fried egg!
